If you watched last night's VP debate, you may start wondering why did McCain go beserk and choose Palin as his running mate. It surely should have been some of deep depression or pills or some kind of dope that might have caused John to take this reckless decision.
I am not talking about Palin's knowledge or even her experience. I am really concerned about her ability to understand what is required for the job, her perpective and her IQ. She got an F in these fundamental areas.
Let me prove why.
1. Palin mentioned about her being a outsider to washington as an advantage.
What was she thinking when she said that? If hockey moms could run the country then there would be no university offering courses in "Political Science". Who said we do not want politician to run the country. They are gonna run the most properous nation in the world. They have allies who smart, enemies who are smarter and dangerous around the world. To deal with such diverse cultures and complex political minds like Putin (Russia), Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (Iran), Kim Jong-Il (North Korea), we need a president/VP capable of a political startegy to sustain the allies, deal with our enemies effectively.
Do not mistake me, we need washington to understand main street issues but that does not mean we ignore larger, more influential issues like foreign policy
2. Palin was asked what promises she would not be able to keep because of this recent financial turmoil
She says she's been 5 weeks into this campaign and does not know what has been promised.
Ridiculous!! how can one agree to sign up as a VP ccandidate if they did not know what their principal stood for and what promises he has been making to the people of the country. Is this not the moral and basic responsibility of the VP candidate to understand and be aware of what he/she is rallying for, what promises he/she would have to fulfill when they occupy the white house or if he/she is called upon to act on behalf of the President.
Is the Palin ticket different from the McCain ticket? I believe so at least from this answer.
This is absolutely nonsencisal. Palin thinks that the people of the lower 48 states are as foolish and stupid as her state. That is not the case though, at least I believe so.
3. Palin was asked to defend how is McCain's policy different from Bush's policy
She had practically no answers to it. She did not even think of defending it. She as actually speechless for a moment, before she started her nonsensical rote of coached statements.
4. She had the obnoxious courage to not answer the moderator her questions
It is amazing that inspite of all these gaffes, we are so stupid to applaud her of standing her own. What does that mean "standing her own"? I just don't get it.
5. She also mentioned that she would not talk to the media.
How can a VP candidate get away with this? I understand that the media may be biased. But she owes the citizens of the America where she stands on critical issues that affects them. How are the americans going to know that? She's closed all doors. I need to know what's in that head that may decide our future for the next 4 years!
But guess the biggest point here is, there were no follow up questions. Imagine if there were follow up questions. She would have blatantly proved that she is iceberg that sunk that the republican titanic.
My question is do we still believe we have 2 tickets to choose from? I guess not. The republican chapter is closed as of yesterday.
We have only one choice!

Debate The Debate
When you watch the election coverage these days, you cannot but wonder as to whether where this country is heading to.
McCain's mannerisms, body language and even attitude seems like a grumpy POW just released. He has to shed those misgivings. It seems like he is still carrying that deep in his heart and mind giving him a sulking image.
Moreover at the age of 70+, he has already entered his second childhood where common sense seems to less prevail. It is evident from the fact of his VP choice. Does he think running this country is a 2 hour hollywood movie where I pick my best cast for the best entertainment of the audience. This is serious business with no excuses for his mis-judgement or should I say "Country Last" attitude is picking Sarah Palin as his counterpart. She definitely may have the skills as they talk about though I am personally not convinced she has even the slightest notion of how to run a nation or help run a nation.
I second Fareed Zakaria's views that her executive experience may make her a good choice for the president of Saudi Arabia, but not for America which is diverse in economic, geographical and cultural aspects. I do not need a hockey mom to take care of me. Do you?
McCain is over emotional. In last weeks presidential debate, he stated that a mother of a dead soldier asked her son's death not to in vain and that was the reason he wants to continue a already lost war till he gets victory. Isn't that utterly foolish and stupid of him to put thousands of lives in danger for this reason. Do not mistake me, first of all, my heart felt gratitude to the martyr's mother. Her son's sacrifice is never in vain. He has laid his life for the country and nothing in this world can take that honor and sacrifice from him or his mother. Winning a war is not a closure for the mother or the son, but honoring his sacrifice is. McCain actually humiliated this young brave soldier and his mother by saying that they will have to wait till the end of the war until we return victorious to honor this extreme sacrifice. It is just disgusting and disdainful of this one time war hero whose seems to have lost his mind.
Obama on the other hand comes along as a more matured and someone I would feel really comfortable governing this country. I think he is exceptionally educated and I strongly believe he has the talent, skill and temperment to lead this country. A the same time I think he is still naive on some issues and most importantly is not able to connect to the common man. I am sure he understands the concerns of the middle-class and knows what needs to be done. He is just not getting that message across very well. I think he needs to explore (a.k.a exploit) his background, his childhood more during the campaigns and the fact that he struggled through his prime to be what he is today. He should be doing more of that in the coming days before the elections and actual implement his philosophies when he takes the white house come Jan 09.
Obama has been prudent in his choice of Joe Biden as the running mate. That is where my confidence lies. He takes the right decision with the right judgement. That is what we need in a president.
- We need a president who may not be emotional, but takes the right decisions.
- We need a president who may not be a War hero or a POW, but knows how to avoid getting us into that situation
- We need a president who may not be a Guru in economy, but knows where the tax breaks need to be provided
- We need a president who may may not know today how energy independence can fully achieved, but knows how to lay a foundation for that in the next 10 years
- Lastly we need a president who may not have own many home, but knows the value of owng just one which makes him as concerned as the rest of us if it has to be foreclosed

Independance! The Price We Pay
This year's independance day made me wonder about what price is being paid to be this free? With the number of martyrs and innocent civilians increasing by the day both in Iraq and Afganistan, does this independence make sense? Not only for America, but across the world and for centuries, the price of independence has been born out of Political borders. I sometimes wonder that if there were no political borders what would the world be like!!!! A view of an astronaut in space!! All they see is a beautiful earth with blue seas and rugged mountains with touches of a green landscape. It would like as if someone created an art work of beauty.
Alas, that is not what it is. It is a mess of constant power struggle across continents, countries and cultures. And if that was not enough, religion is an addition to it in the recent centuries.
I wonder if even the ones struggling so insanely towards this have the slightest notion of what kind of battle is being fought and what is the objective. I see a lot of bull**** of fight against oppression. Let us for the sake of reasonsing agree to this for a minute. Who is oppressing whom and who is paying the price? Are the leaders who are the drivers of this war paying the price! Or are the innocent civilians or the soldiers? More often than not, it has been the civilians who have to bear the brunt and go through the ill-effects of such a war and in most cases they have nothing to gain for these hardships but lose. The soldiers have been a part of this debacle as well since they have their families left behind to face the aftermath.
I sometimes feel that humans in the process of evolving the sixth sense have lost our basic senses. We kill each other for no purpose!
Nevertheless, this is the time to honor our soldiers who are fighting for our freedom, allowing us to live in a free and independant nation. Let us make it worth their lives. Let us live a life that makes them proud of us.
